BRO. REGINALD JOHNSON

GREETINGS FROM THE DISTRICT DIRECTOR

To Be An Alphaman, a beloved poem by Brother Fred H. Woodruff states, “To be an Alphaman means more than just to wear a pin. It requires intrinsic qualities that are developed deep within, It calls for lasting brotherhood, a word sometimes used in vain, it means an honest devotion, not anticipation of personal gain…

I am devoted to Alpha Men of the District of Wisconsin’s on-going development as relevant leaders, transparent leaders and acquiescent leaders who understand and trust the methods of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Administratively, this conference will embrace operational properties of the District. The ratification of the District of Wisconsin Constitution and By-Laws and the introduction of strategic action plans for the appropriate advancement of District and chapter sustainability will transpire. The Initial Membership Development Process (IMDP) certification training will occur. This credential is required for participation in the Spring 2019 IMDP cluster weekends in late February and early March 2019.  In addition, college brothers will present an overview and implementation guidelines for proper execution of our National Programs.

We will continue upon the success of the Generational Diversity workshops presented by Bro. Victor Gray at the last District Conference.  This convention will also focus on developing the “Who” and ‘How” we are as leaders. We shall glean on the rich diversity of wisdom, nobility and Alpha character that lies within the brotherhood. Therefore, we have Alphamen presenting thought provoking TED Talk style workshops designed to be beneficial to becoming the best human, the best man, the best colleague and the best Alphaman possible in every walk our lives.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Alpha Men, Develop From Within II!”

Alpha Phi Alpha develops leaders and promotes brotherhood.  Listening, learning and applying best practices acquired from the fraternity and each other makes us better Alphamen. “So take an honest inventory of your character within, and for every virtue you find missing, try and weave it in. For a man without these virtues isn't worth a grain of sand. It's plain to see, it's more than just a pin, that makes an Alphaman!

On behalf of myself and the District of Wisconsin Leadership, it is our pleasure to present you with the Official Convention Call for the 19th Wisconsin District Conference to be held December 7–9, 2018 at The Crowne Plaza Airport Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The District Conference Team has labored to insure that Wisconsin’s District Conference will be relevant, adds value to your Alpha maturation and development, and provides an enjoyable fraternal experience.

Come and celebrate the House of Alpha!
